Happy Chinese New Year! The freezing weather continues, bitter easterly winds sweeping across the landscape. Working up the collages into paintings.
The painting retains the integrity of the simplicity of the collage but highlights the mark making and the emphasis on the lines which are important to this piece. The lines of communication have been essential during the pandemic their vulnerability within this landscape represent fragility.
I am very happy with both the collage and the painted sketch. The white spaces balance the composition. The highly complex panoramic landscape is edited down tot the essentials. We have the habitation and the lines of communication.
